Dress for Success: All About the Titan2Titan Clothing Closet

You’ve probably heard the phrase “dress for success”. Whether you’re interviewing for a job or attending a career fair, what you wear and how you wear it leaves a strong impression on others. It even plays a critical role in getting you jobs, internships, and other professional opportunities.

Professional clothing can be expensive, but many colleges and universities now have on-campus resources to help students build their business wardrobes. Thanks to EFSC’s Titan2Titan clothing closet, you don’t have to break the bank to dress professionally; in fact, it’s 100% free!

Read on to learn more about this money-saving resource, how it can benefit you, and how you can help other students as well.

What Is the Titan2Titan Clothing Closet?

The Titan2Titan clothing closet is designed to help EFSC students, faculty, and staff looking for business attire. It’s full of professional and casual clothing items (in many different sizes), including:

  • Full suits (jackets, pants, and skirts)
  • Contemporary suit jackets and blazers
  • Shirts and blouses
  • Slacks and pants
  • Skirts
  • Dresses
  • Ties
  • Belts
  • Dress shoes
  • Socks
  • Undershirts and camisoles

In addition to professional clothing, you can also get interview-related essentials from the closet, such as:

  • Jewelry
  • Hair accessories
  • Unused hair and makeup products
  • Briefcases
  • Portfolios

Where Is the Titan2Titan Clothing Closet Located?

All four EFSC campuses have a Titan2Titan clothing closet.

Who Can Use the Titan2Titan Clothing Closet?

It’s simple: All EFSC students, faculty, and staff can use the closet! To register, you’ll need a valid EFSC ID and (for students) a copy of your current class schedule.

Why Should I Use the Titan2Titan Clothing Closet?

In the future, you’ll ultimately need professional clothing. For example, here are a few situations you’ll probably encounter as a college student:

  • Job/internship interview
  • Scholarship banquet
  • Honors ceremony induction
  • Prom/formal event
  • Job/career fair
  • Professional development conference/seminar/panel
  • Networking event
  • Awards ceremony

Professional clothing can be costly on a college student’s budget. And even if you find something nice at a local thrift store, it’ll still cost you money.

However, the Titan2Titan clothing closet is 100% free for any current EFSC student, and all clothing is reviewed for quality before being displayed.

You can keep up to two pieces of each type of clothing (tops, shoes, jackets, jewelry, etc.) per term, meaning that you can acquire several sets of clothing over your time at EFSC. How cool is that?

How Can I Help the Titan2Titan Clothing Closet?

First of all, you’re awesome for asking! There are two primary ways to help: donating and volunteering.

To Donate: Drop off your new and gently used clothing at the Office of Student Life. If you’re feeling inspired and creative, you can even hold a donation drive with your class or club. Consider:

  • What dates would you like to hold your drive?
  • Do you want your drive to have a theme?
  • Do you have sturdy bins, or will you need to request funds to purchase them?
  • Where on campus will you hold your drive?
  • How will you advertise your drive?
  • Who will deliver the clothes to the closet?

If you’re interested in hosting a clothing drive, contact the Office of Student Life on your campus to get started!

To Volunteer: First, you’ll need to register with the Center for Service-Learning and Civic Engagement. After that, simply bring your placement forms to the Office of Student Life on your campus to set up days and times to volunteer.

Here are some of the ways you might help as a volunteer:

  • Cleaning shelves and floors
  • Sorting clothing donations by category
  • Taking inventory of donated clothing items
  • Displaying clothing items in an attractive manner, or by color and size
