Athlete Spotlight: Alvaro Valdez
Meet Miami native Alvaro Valdez, who wears #19 on the EFSC baseball field and is the next to be featured in our Splash of the Titans Athlete Spotlight series.
Name: Alvaro Valdez
Hometown: Alvaro is from Miami, FL, but was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
Sport and Position: Baseball – Outfield
Studying: Physical Therapy
Fun Facts:
- When he isn’t out on the field, Alvaro loves playing video games (Fortnite) and claims he is a Netflix expert
- Alvaro’s favorite place on campus to study is the library, and his favorite place to eat is Chick-fil-A
- His favorite thing about EFSC is the unity and family-friendly environment
- Alvaro came to EFSC because he was offered a baseball scholarship and knew it was a great place to continue his education
- When there isn’t a game, he is on the field with his team six days a week for practice; they practice for two and a half hours, then hit the weights for 45 minutes afterwards
- Alvaro describes the team as “goofy, talented and supportive” and says one of the perks of being a Titan athlete is having exposure and being noticed around campus
